International Atomic Energy Agency: assessment resources for scientists and practitioners

We are pleased to share resources and e-learning modules for health professionals from the IAEA Nutritional and Health-related Environmental Studies Section in the Division of Human Health, Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications.

The IAEA complements the work of other UN agencies, NGOs and other major players in nutrition and health by encouraging the use of nuclear techniques to develop and evaluate interventions to combat malnutrition in all its forms.

These nuclear techniques, in particular stable (non-radioactive) isotope techniques, add value by improving the specificity and sensitivity of nutritional evaluations such as the assessment of body composition, bone mineral density, total daily energy expenditure, intake of human milk in breastfed infants, vitamin A status, and bioavailability of micronutrients from foods, and will be of interest to the broader EASO community for assessments of body composition and total energy expenditure.

See more in the Education section of the EASO website.
