Established in 1986, EASO is a federation of professional membership associations from 37 countries.
The European Association for the Study of Obesity has published an important new paper in Nature Medicine outlining an updated framework on the diagnosis, staging, and management of obesity in adults, emphasising understanding obesity as an adiposity-based chronic disease.

Words matter and accurate framing and consistent terminology use is vital for ensuring accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, consistent research, clear communication, informed policy-making, and overall improved patient outcomes.
