Grant Proposal Writing and Opportunities in Obesity Research: ECN eLearning Hub Event

Join the EASO Early Career Network for the next ECN eLearning Hub online event, Thursday 23rd February 2023 (12-1pm CET). The webinar will feature obesity and diabetes specialist Dr Amy Ahern, who will share expert advice with early career professionals on grant proposal writing and finding funding opportunities in obesity research. There will be time to ask questions and have further discussion with Dr Ahern at the end of the webinar.

Dr Amy Ahern is a Principal Research Associate and Programme Leader for the Prevention of Diabetes and Related Metabolic Disorders in High Risk Groups at the University of Cambridge MRC Epidemiology Unit. Her research focuses on the development and evaluation of interventions to prevent and treat obesity and diabetes, with an emphasis on translating understanding of the psychology of eating behaviour and weight management into scalable cost-effective interventions that have sustained effects on behaviour and improve mental and physical health. Amy leads a portfolio of experimental, observational, and qualitative studies, including large randomised controlled trials with long-term follow up. Her research is funded by a mix of project and programme funding from research councils, charities and industry.
