Ana Isabel de Cos Blanco

Ana Isabel de Cos Blanco is an Endocronologist with a long career working in La Paz Universitary Hospital of Madrid since 1990. She received her doctorate at the Autonoma University of Madrid (UAM) and has been a faculty member of this University for the past 12 years. She is also a clinical lecturer of UNED (Correspondence University of Madrid).

Since 2006 she has been in charge of the Obesity Unit in the Endocrinology and Nutrition Department of La Paz. And continuing this clinical activity she is the scientific co-director of the Master of Obesity and its Co-morbidities: prevention, diagnosis and holistic treatment.

As another side to her professional career she also has a Master in Bioethics and is very active on the Bioethics Committee of La Paz where she presently is the Vice-President.

And with training in Quality in Health Management, she is currently the quality co-ordinator of the Endocrinoligy and Nutrition Department.

She is a member of the Spanish Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (SENPE), European Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN), Spanish Society for the Study of Obesity (SEEDO) and the European Association for the Study of Obesity (EASO). Member of the Editorial Board of the Spanish journal ‘Obesidad’ and a member of the Writing Committee of the journal ‘Nutrición Hospitalaria’. She is also a member of the IdiPAZ Training Committee.

Ana Cos is author or co-author of over 80 articles in medical journals and over 80 chapters in medical books of national coverage. As well as being co-editor of 3 Nutrition Guides and one on Obesity, she has participated in more than 160 presentations in national conventions, 14 in international conventions and more than 60 lectures in Spanish conventions. She has participated in research projects and clinical trials in the field of Nutrition, Metabolism, Obesity and Dietary related pathologies.
