EARLY CAREER NETWORK WEBINAR: Effective Research Communication for Scientific Audiences

ECN members are invited to sharpen your research communication skills by joining next the EASO Early Career Network (ECN) Board eLearning Hub event. Learn how to effectively engage scientific audiences and elevate your research impact.

This eLearning Hub event features Dr Jennifer Baker, Head of Lifecourse Epidemiology, Center for Clinical Research and Prevention, Copenhagen University Hospital-Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg, Denmark. Dr Jennifer Baker is an expert on the causes and consequences of body size and growth in childhood, with particular emphasis on childhood obesity.

Dr Baker will guide attendees through the development of compelling messaging tailored to scientific communities, including discussion of visual abstracts, posters, and oral presentations. The following topics will be covered:

  • Scientific messaging: the importance of storytelling for captivating audiences
  • Layout and design: mastering clarity in communication materials
  • Audience targeting and engagement: tailoring communication to resonate with peers
  • “Dos and don’ts” of research communication: expert tips for effective engagement

ECN members who aim to communicate their research to scientific audiences should consider joining us for this event; the session content may be of particular interest to those who have submitted abstracts to the European Congress on Obesity (ECO) 2024. If you are an early career student or professional interested in obesity, but are not yet a member of the ECN, you are encouraged to sign up here before registering for this session.
